Tea Rooms

You’ll find traditional home-cooked food such as savoury dishes, puddings and cakes with a Warm Welsh welcome in our tea rooms. Here’s a selection of tea rooms across Wales.

North Wales

  • Cemlyn Tea Shop, Harlech
Relax with tea and home-made cake on the terrace with stunning views of Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia.  You can buy a selection of teas, coffees, locally made preserves and chutneys to take home with you too.
  • Llangollen Wharf Tea Rooms, Llangollen
Enjoy home-made cakes and tea whilst watching the horse-drawn boats glide by.

  • Tu Hwnt i'r Bont, Llanrwst
The award-winning Ty Hwnt i'r Bont is situated on the banks of the river Conwy by Inigo James Bridge and is the perfect photo-stop and possibly the most photographed building in North Wales. Home-made Bara Brith (speckled bread) and Welsh Cakes are a speciality. It can cater for larger groups.
  • Tŷ Hyll – The Ugly House, nr. Betws-y-Coed
Learn about the historical cottage, its legends and how it was built, discover the word of honey bees and enjoy homemade local food in the cosy Pot Mêl (Honey Pot) tea room. It’s really quirky, not ugly! You could choose to walk from Betws-y-Coed, passing Swallow Falls to build up an appetite! It would take around 1 hour.

Mid Wales

  • Pilgrims Tea Room (Brecon Cathedral)
Is a licenced restaurant and café situated in the 15th century cloisters and in the summer you can sit out in the pretty herb garden.
  • The Old Stables Tea Room, Hay-on-Wye
The Old Stables is well-known for their biggest toasted tea-cakes in Wales. It offers 37 different teas and they may their own cakes and preserves. It has been decorated with old advertisements, weighing scales and all kinds of memorabilia.

  •

  • Wye Knot Stop Tea Room, nr. Hay-on-Wye
Located between Hay-on-Wye and Brecon, great reviews for their cream-tea with home-made scones. They sell local honey, jams, marmalade, chutney, cards, photographs, paintings and ordnance survey maps.
