  • Dylan Thomas Centre

    (Visit time: 1 hour minimum)
    A centre dedicated to the life and work of Swansea’s most famous poet. Come and visit the ‘Man and Myth’ exhibition which showcases the largest collection of Dylan Thomas memorabilia in the world. Free entry.

  • National Waterfront Museum

    (Visit time: 1-2 hours)
    Wales’ newest museum is an iconic building of Welsh slate, steel and glass integrated with a Grade II listed warehouse, which was part of the working port. The museum is full of new technology to make our history come alive. It tells Wales’ story of industry and innovation through state-of-the-art technology such as interactive displays and high impact graphics. Free entry.

  • Swansea Museum

    (Visit time: 30 minutes minimum)
    Wales’ oldest museum was established in 1841. The Grade II listed building is a treasure house of Swansea’s past and also contains artefacts from further afield. In addition to its local and Egyptian collections, the Museum also offers visitors the chance to see memorabilia from the famous Mumbles railway in the nearby Tramshed and maritime exhibits moored at Swansea Marina.   • Shopping

    (Visit time: 1 hour to 1 day!)
    The shopping centre has lots of big name stores and a shopping mall as well as smaller shopping arcades and independent shops. Swansea Market, in the heart of the shopping centre is Wales’ largest indoor market with over 100 stalls selling, amongst other things, fresh local produce – come and sample local delicacies such as cockles and laverbread (seaweed!) and welshcakes fresh from the bakestone!

  • Plantasia

    (Visit time: 1 hour)
    A superb all-weather attraction, Plantasia is a unique giant hot house garden located in the City Centre. It is proud to house a colony of endangered Cotton-top tamarin monkeys as well as a huge variety of unusual and exotic plants, several species which are extinct in the wild. Wander through the three climatic zones - tropical, arid and humid - before enjoying a delicious snack in the coffee shop and a browse through the gift shop.

  • Clyne Gardens

    (Visit time: 1 hour minimum)
    In Clyne Gardens you will find 48 acres of picturesque woodland gardens, around 2000 different plants, including 500 rhododendrons, many of which are unique to the gardens. You can also enjoy a wild flower meadow, viewing tower and bog garden, complete with historic architectural features. Don't miss the giant leaf rhubarb-like plant called Gunnera Manicata, which can grow leaves up to 2.5 metres across, the largest leafed herbaceous plant grown in Europe! Free entry.

  • Singleton Park & Botanical Gardens

    (Visit time: 1 hour minimum)
    The Park spreads over 100 acres of open parkland. The fantastic Botanical Gardens are located within the old walled garden, once part of the estate of Lord Swansea. The Gardens have long been renowned for their internationally impressive seasonal bedding and can now also boast the national Pelargonium collection. Plant collections from hot desert regions, rainforest areas and warmer regions around the globe can all be found in the hothouses. Free entry.

  • LC Leisure Complex

    (Visit time: 2 hours minimum)
    Swansea’s new leisure complex has three activity zones. The Edge offers everything from adrenalin-fuelled surfing and water rides to kid’s lagoon and interactive play pool. The Core houses a multi-purpose sports and exhibition hall and a four-storey interactive Playzone, and nine-metre climbing wall. Upstairs, The Peak is Wales’ biggest fitness arena with a comprehensive range of cutting-edge equipment, two aerobics studios and a relaxing spa and treatments centre.
