Cardiff Tasting Tour – Year of the Sea 2018

Loving Welsh Food are celebrating the Volvo Ocean Race's stop over in Cardiff with a Year of the Sea inspired tasting tour. The tour which runs on Friday 25th May 1st and 8th June 2018 between 1030 – 1400 hrs will be £40 per person, meeting at Cardiff Castle.

On the menu will be laverbread and cheese scones with cream cheese and chilli jam as well as a laverbread and cockles canapé. Laverbread is a Welsh delicacy - a fine seaweed collected along the Welsh coastline.

Other savoury tastings include Welsh cheeses, charcuterie and pies. The tour ends with luxurious chocolate truffles – made with cocoa, cream and sea salt.

Also included are tastings of local beers and cider and a swig of Barti Ddu Welsh rum. Welsh pirate Barti Ddu may be less well known than his counterparts Blackbeard and Captain Kidd, but he’s believed to have amassed more booty than either of them.

The tour itself is a great way to discover Cardiff, try some lush Welsh food and drink tastings, learn some history and enjoy some good company with an experienced guide.
